Big fields are lotteries. Twenty runners means traffic, bad draws, horses getting no run, and a dozen things that can go wrong before the last furlong.
Small fields are different. With four to seven runners every horse can be read. You can see who wants to lead, who stays, who's in form and who's out of their depth. There's nowhere to hide.
That is where Straight Shooter works. We leave the favourite to everyone else and look at the horses just behind it in the betting. That's where bookmakers most often get the price wrong.
One horse. One bet. To win. No doubles, no trebles, no clutter.
Every morning the day's cards go through the same set of rules. A horse only becomes the Straight Shooter if it passes every one. If nothing passes, there's no bet.
One message by email and on your private Telegram channel: the horse, the race, the bet, the stake and the price — plus a line in plain English telling you exactly how to place it. If nothing passes every rule, you get a no-bet message instead.
What time do the tips arrive?
Every morning at about 7am, by email and on your private Telegram channel. That gives you the whole morning to get on before the prices move.
What is a point?
A point is your own unit of stake. Many members make one point 1% of the money they set aside for betting, so a 100-point bank. If your point is £2, a 5-point bet is £10.
What if the price has shortened?
Take the best price you can find. We always show the price and where it was available at 7am. Early prices are usually the best of the day.
What happens on days with no bet?
If nothing passes every rule, we send a no-bet message instead. A day without a bet is better than a bet you shouldn't have had.
Are the results published?
Yes. Every tip is recorded and settled at the advised price, winners and losers, on our results page from day one.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, in your account or in PayPal. Nothing more is taken and your tips carry on until the end of the time you've paid for.
Do I need Telegram?
No. Every tip comes by email as well. Telegram is a back-up so a tip never gets stuck in a spam folder.
Why only one bet a day?
Because one carefully chosen bet is easier to follow, easier to afford and easier to judge than a pile of selections. If you want a bigger-priced each-way bet as well, that's Long Ranger.
Long Ranger is the each-way partner to Straight Shooter: one bigger-priced horse a day in 8-runner handicaps, where the place terms work hardest for you.

Back horses at the right price: odds, the bookmaker's cut, each-way, staking and a daily checklist.
