Captain Ruck — Oval & Willow

Rugby in the winter, cricket in the summer, and a sharp eye for both. This is Captain Ruck — Oval & Willow, match-winner tips from an old schoolmaster.

The Captain led a county rugby side through the winter and a village cricket eleven through the summer. Then he ran a school's First Fifteen and First Eleven for thirty years. He knows rugby is won up front, and that cricket is often decided by the pitch, the sky and the toss.

He sticks to rugby union and cricket match winners, and nothing else. No complicated bets, no long lists. Just a short note each morning with the teams he likes and why.

He is choosy. If he can't read a game, he won't back it, and he'll tell you so. Some days that means a quiet inbox, and that is the point.

Every bet is kept in the open like a school register. His tips have been recorded since late September, and each one is settled and shown, win or lose.
