Royal Ascot is the best Flat meeting in the world, without equal. There are more lucrative fixtures and richer individual races but the Royal Meeting at Ascot is more than a sporting occasion. The action on the track is of the highest quality but the activity surrounding the racing makes Royal Ascot stand out. The 'Royal' in Royal Ascot is reference to the monarch because the Queen owns the course and attends the meeting on all five days. Apparently it's her favourite week of the year!
Royal Ascot combines Group races and heritage handicaps over a range of distances, for a variety of age groups and for both genders. There are 30 races of which 19 are at Group level. That represents the biggest concentration of Group races of any meeting in the UK and Ireland, including the Cheltenham Festival and Grand National meeting at Aintree.
This year there are horses running from nine other countries which reflects the international flavour of arguably the most famous fixture in the sport.
The Flat course at Ascot is right-handed and triangular. The round course descends from the one mile and four furlongs post into Swinley Bottom which is the lowest part of the track. The course then turns right-handed and joins the Old Mile track which starts at a separate chute. The course rises and joins the straight mile course. The run-in is about three furlongs and there is a slight incline to the finish.
The Royal Ascot 2019 Special will provide tips for every race. Stakes will be win or each way and the stake unit will be 1 to 5. Over the five days the total stake will be 100 units or 20 each day.
The individual must decide on the level of stakes but if you bet at 10 per point the theoretical betting bank is 1000. However, that is the maximum risk but on past form Rick will have winners on each day and his history suggests an overall profit. There will be some favourites and bigger priced bets.
The Royal Ascot 2019 Special tips will be sent out first thing in the morning...
