5th September 2017

Hi ,

A new month has begun and after securing a profit in August and July we aim to build on that again this month. We had a great win yesterday with CRUSHED advised at 5/1 first thing the horse scooted clear to win by more than 2l. That was the first winner of the month and hopefully we can follow that up.

We are not having an account bet today and with the change in weather all bets are advised with caution but below we have gone through the GOODWOOD card for your enjoyment hopefully it will provide a few winners and maybe one at a huge price.

Tuesday’s Horses In Focus

Goodwood 1:30 Maiden (Class 5) 10f - ANCIENT LOGGING 11/4 should appreciate the drop in trip after running well up with the pace in a class 3 race over 12f furlongs. The best speed rating is with PSYCHOTIC though who was staying on over 7f last time and is smartly bred 9/1 looks like a decent price to see if the horse stays. I can’t have fearsome on the ratings.

Goodwood 2:05 Stakes (Class 5) 7f - There are a couple of unknowns in this nine-runner contest, but JULIET FOXTROT sets a high standard with a good speed rating she gained when finishing just out of the money on debut at Newmarket. She stayed on well at the business end that day. She ran a bit green that day but clearly has loads of ability. Further improvement can be expected this afternoon, while connections are positive softer ground could enhance her chances. Still offered at even money, we make this filly an odds on shot.

Goodwood 2:40 Maiden (Class 2) 8f - This is a really tough race to work out nothing that has run has set the world alight but the one that stands out is possibly Mick Channons runner POUCOR at 33/1. I also thought that newcomer GIFT OF HERA 20/1 had a decent pedigree and may well out run her odds.

Goodwood 3:15 Handicap (Class 2) 6f - Not the most consistent bunch here and many have something to prove NEOLA 9/2 could make it a decent day for John Egan and Mick but there are plenty that could bounce back after disappointing runs.

Goodwood 3:50 Handicap (Class 2) 16f - I fear the ground has gone against Percy Veer at 25/1 the horse has been heavily punted a couple of times and connections think he is ready to win but he does like fast ground one for the note book and maybe a small win bet. That said AURORA GREY must have a big chance today but 5/2 is rather skinny.

Goodwood 4:25 Handicap (Class 4) 6f - I have always liked JOE PACKET as a horse and sure the 10 yo retains ability but I think there may be a younger horse here that has a better chance ARTSCAPE around 6/1 would be where my pin drops.

Goodwood 5:00 Handicap (Class 5) 11f - HARD TOFFEE won this last year off a pound higher so must have a decent chance today 10/3 is just about big enough to be involved. Back next week with more horses in focus and hopefully more good news.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt
