So the Royal meeting comes to a close today and its been quite a week.

The stars of the show have been the Boys in Blue Godolphin who came into this meeting under a cloud after the “parting Company with Racing manager John Ferguson.”

Saeed Bin Suroor chose a Racing Post Interview to give Ferguson a bashing which is most unlike this mob who usually keep everything in house and very quiet.

Ferguson obviously realised Sheik Mo wasn’t siding with him in the argument and his position was untenable.

The reaction has been incredible and the boys in blue have swept all before them with Coolmore looking a bit silly having massive gambles on Churchill and Declaration of independence foiled in embarrassing manners.

As I write both horses are still running!

With Qatar in the wilderness you have to worry how Qatari Racing which sponsors Goodwood is going to continue so Sheikh Mo really is back in business as the leading Arab force. And a tip for the whoever the new boss, keep on the right side of Saeed or else!!!

Jamie Spencer is what we call a Marmite figure with punters, some don’t like him very much and others despise him and the head waiter was at it again yesterday on Raheen House who he cleverly held up miles back on fast ground on a front runners track. The result a flying at the finish fourth, yes we were on each way, yes did I say certain expletives aimed at Spencer’s parentage, yes I did, am I sorry, No I’m not.

You will then be somewhat shocked that I am suggesting you back the little man today for our column bet. You may agree that the definition of insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results. BUT the stats do not lie and over the straight course at Ascot Spencer makes money, more than any other jockey in fact. So lets put aside our feelings and think why? My theory is that they go too fast in many big field handicaps here and the Head Waiter cleans up by being out the back. You cannot say he is a good judge of pace as he makes so many errors but this straight course suits him.

Plus the horse in question Buckstay is 20/1 with Betvictor who are paying 5 places. Buckstay loves two things Ascot and fast ground and a fast pace to attack. Drawn in 12 Spencer can track the pace which is high and pounce late on.

He owes us after yesterday so lets give him chance to redeem, I’m nothing if not fair. If he finishes a flying sixth……… you know the rest.

Buckstay 20/1 Each Way Betvictor 1/4 odds 5 places 5.00 pm Royal Ascot.

I have two other big bets today one is 66/1 so join the club through the link below and get on this monster gamble today.
