10th June 2017

Hi ,

Scotland take on England this afternoon in the World Cup Qualifiers and it should be a goal fest. Imagine, if you could get £1 worth of free spins from every goal scored. You could be in for a right earner. Plus you’re first bet is insured for up to £10.00…

Well what a week!

Jezzas on the March, the PM is on the run and nobody told the weather it was June!

What a week at BetFan Towers and your favourite Saturday columnist has also gone down with the most ridiculous bout of hay fever in history.

But whatever Politics and life throws at us Racing and betting go on and the Simon Holden Racing Club sits proudly in the number 1 spot in the BetFan Charts and I intend it to stay there.

Armed with Dark Glasses and enough Piritron to feed a family of four I shall be at Haydock today for an excellent days racing.

The North West track is rapidly becoming one of my favourite tracks in the country and the quality of racing is consistently high. I find it one of the fairer of the big tracks in terms of draw and track bias and as punters that is paramount.

Lets go for a big priced touch today for our Saturday column bet and put as smile back on everyones face! Our race is the group 3 Betway Pinnacle stakes for fillies over a mile and a half at 3.30.

The going is going to be soft as rain batters the northwest so our first priority is to find a horse who will go in the ground. The likely fave Ajman princess obviously has a massive chance but I think her best form is on quicker and at 9/4 we can afford
to look elsewhere.

We have a French raider in Bateel who will love the ground but seems to shirk a close finish so I’m leaving her alone too and looking for a juicy price. Step forward a horse who has been campaigning at a much lower level but showed much improved form when storing to success at York on soft ground last time, Zain Arion.

Zain Arion is 28/1 today which is massive value and is from the very canny Butler yard. What interests me is by running here he is risking ruining her handicap mark forever so he must think that risk is worth it. She galloped through the mud that day in the style of a filly who relished the battle and in today’s ground that will be a massive asset. Many of the flashier horses won’t fancy this up the straight and I expect Paul Mulrennan to send her on and try and get a few of them at it early in the straight.

Back her each way @28/1 and you will get a run for your money.

I have two other major gambles on the card which you still have time to secure by joining the Racing Club which is over 50 points up already in June!
