Hi ,

I hope you all got a good run for your money in the Grand National where our tip Saint Are ran a cracking race to be 3rd at an advised 40/1. It was wonderful to see all 40 runners come home safe and sound. If you watched the race on the telly do you think I.T.V. are doing a better job than Channel 4?

Personally I think the presentation is far more user friendly with a more entertaining slant on the programme. Plus it seems to cater for viewers who have a limited knowledge of racing which must be good as the more new blood we get to take an interest in the industry the better.

The flat season will soon be kicking into overdrive with Classic trials this month but before that there is a fab days racing at Lingfield on Good Friday where we have the all weather champions day finals.

Did you read the story about the guy who played a fruit machine won £80,000 and never got a dime? It appears this chap was playing at the Hard Rock hotel in Fort Lauderdale Florida in the casino accompanied by his then girl friend. He was having a terrible run of luck when he asked her to push the button. The lights flashed the sirens went off as he had hit the jackpot however a row broke out between the couple and security were called.

It transpired that after watching security footage of the win it was seen that the girlfriend had pressed the button for the win and regardless who placed the bet in law the winnings go to the button pusher. She did say she would share the winnings with her ex but after receiving some nasty texts from him she kept the lot. So just remember never upset the wife or girlfriend when you’re betting.

There seems to be some decent racing on offer today and for Howies Hottie I’ m off to Nottingham for the 4.50. It’s a 3 year old handicap over 10 furlongs which has produced a competitive field. I have heard some good reports coming out of Karl Burkes yard for Costa Percy who is owned by Paul and Claire Rooney no relation to Wayne I might add.

The gelding has been running on the all weather over shorter trips and this step up in distance is bound to suit this son of Sir Percy who should go well at an each way price.

HOT HANDICAPPERS
