It was very sad last week to lose a horse like MANY CLOUDS, especially in the circumstances. He battled so bravely to beat Thistlecrack. We thought he would go close to winning the national this year. Very sad times for all involved in the horse. It does beg the question though is it time to start putting the life savings on Thistlecrack for Cheltenham? The only horse that could beat him came to this end he really is some horse.
Last week’s horses in focus did really well highlighting several winners. We were not far away with our 66/1 shot and bagged a place to get paid out. This is what we said about the race… “LEICESTER 1:20 SISTER SIBYL comes out well for this race but is the price fair - too many dangers I feel to go in at 11/8 TREACLE TART 16/1 looks a big price as does LITTLE ACORN at 15/2 both horses should do better today. The second fav that Johnson rides I don’t know much about but the bumper form looks solid enough. Looking at the speed ratings there is a horse that is very interesting and that’s the rank outsider SUE BE IT at A HUGE 66/1 and even bigger on the exchanges for small money. According to the clock she would have a chance only comes out a few points behind the favourite and is learning more every race. Connections are hopeful she can put in a big run today.”
Well we backed both Treacle Tart and SUE BE IT on the service and both horses came first and second to SISTER SIBYL with the winning margin a head and the 3rd home a head too very close to a massive pay day. The Trifecta paid 335!

DANIEL STEELE - has 3 horses running today all of which have been backed like crazy overnight. Yet last night they were much smaller prices with the book makers then they were on the exchanges. This is because he has backed these himself! Not for much money but he had had a few quid on all the multiples. Not for the first time either he has done the same before probably around a year ago when his horses were being trained by Sheena West. That day we were on early at good prices yet the information from Dan was that he wasn’t confident and it hadn’t really been planned just that he though every horse was in the right race. Same info today really but interesting all the same.
Last night all 3 were less then 2/1 with a bookmaker although they have drifted this morning. It’s hard to see them all winning but good luck to him.
Tuesday’s Horses In Focus
Lingfield 2:25 DORMOUSE should like this race today and is ready to leave recent form behind according to connection this has been the target for a while now. 4/1 looks fair but there are a few dangers including rank outsider KUBALI who could be in with a squeak if he can find his best form.
4:00 DOITFORTHEVILLAGE and TARA BRIDGE could be 2 to concentrate on here at 9/2 and 7/1 both come out well on the ratings. MR MUDDLE could also go much better today and shouldn’t be discounted I think we have the first 2 home here.
SOUTHWELL 1:30 TEXAS FOR EVER appeals most in this race with Kim’s stable about to start hitting top gear. They like this fella a lot he has had plenty of issues but they think he is really maturing well. Well-bred I think if one is playing a large bet, we should cover with a rev forecast with Un Prophete.
3:40 LADY BUTTONS won well for me last time and may do well again but didn’t place a speed rating of note so 6/4 looks a little short to me DRAGON DE LA TOUR 8/1, STEEL CITY 18/1 or STRAITS OF MASSINA 25/1 look 3 really live each way possibilities.
WOLVERHAMPTON 5:50 CAPTAIN BOB has been laid out for this according to connections he is fit and well and they are expecting a big run 8/1 the price is worth a punt.
