A decent week for Investors last week as we make further ground. It has not been all smooth sailing though (it never is). A few close calls has put a few horses names into the tracker. Two horses to watch for are…
DUTIFUL SON - The horse is looking well handicapped and has recently shown a bit more sparkle at home. We backed this Invisible spirit gelding at around 7/1 and he was finishing fastest of all but just not quite enough to get there. He is due to run on the 28th yet a decision has not yet been made as to which race he will contest. He will be a threat though and if the race is class 3 then he could also be a value price!
SLIDING DOORS - Connections were confident in this horse winning at 4/1 he was also a value price first time out in a bumper the horse was held up just a little too far back and just got headed on the line after getting his nose in front. He will have come on for that run!

Anyone who played the multiple on Derby Day for instance would now be pretty well off. Yet these things take time and patience. It took me years to grow my account big enough that it could provide me an income but it was certainly worth it!

Tuesday’s Horses In Focus
LEICESTER 1:20 SISTER SIBYL comes out well for this race but is the price fair - too many dangers I feel to go in at 11/8. TREACLE TART 16/1 looks a big price as does LITTLE ACORN at 15/2 both horses should do better today. The second fav that Johnson rides I don’t know much about but the bumper form looks solid enough. Looking at the speed ratings there is a horse that is very interesting and that’s the rank outsider SUE BE IT at A HUGE 66/1 and even bigger on the exchanges for small money. According to the clock she would have a chance and only comes out a few points behind the favourite and is learning more every race. Connections are hopeful she can put in a big run today. I would think TREACLE TART and SUE BE IT each way would be the selections.
2:20 I see this race between LA VATICANE and THE ORGANIST they may even finish 1-2. 11/2 for the Organist looks e/w value to me while the other horse is priced just about right at 6/4.
3:50 HILL FORT we have mentioned before in this newsletter. Well connections thought he had excuses last time and did expect a much better race from him. Today might be the day he returns their faith 9/1 with Paddy Power is enough for the risk.
SOUTHWELL 1:40 GEORGIO has been the buzz horse on a lot of people’s lips this morning 3/1 looks fair considering what information is out there. One that could leave previous form behind is MUNGOS MADNESS at 25/1 and would be worth an each way squeak.
WETHERBY 1:30 MOST CELEBRATED is still odds against and that has to be value a useful type on the flat he should go very close today as new connections think they have him spot on for today.
2:00 CAPTAIN MOWBURY 5/2 is the selection here has ran some promising races lately and looks a winner in waiting. Only negative is the price which has very little left in the way of value. EDWARD ELGAR ran a decent race last time and could give the selection most to think about with ROCKY TOO to make up the 123.
2:30 DREAM FLYER and FINGER ON THE SWITCH are the 2 backed at the top of the market. As such both are much too short for us. OSCAR OSCAR at 10/1 and SHARNEY SIKE at 16/1 look feasible each way bets.
3:00 ASK PADDY is the selection at 4/1 the horse has a good chance today and comes out well on value.
3:30 One horse I have kept an eye on is Captain Redbeard he is starting to look like a proper horse. I remember watching this horse in his early days and he was gangly to say the least. The form behind OLDGRANGEWOOD is good so he goes in the mix and MONBEG RIVER has always been well thought of. Both available at 4/1 - not much in the prices.
