British Champions Day

This Saturday all racing lovers are treated to the QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot.

It's the richest race day on the British calendar and the finale of the European Flat Racing Season.

To celebrate this great racing day BetFan would like to offer our followers "THE TWO BETS OF THE DAY THAT REALLY MATTER!" These will be sent direct to your mobile phone on Saturday morning thanks to our new Secret Selection System that we have been testing behind closed doors to great effect.

Hi ,

Did you watch the England v Malta match and were you impressed? As I fell asleep during the first half and when I woke up it was so boring I turned over channels to watch Strictly and have to say Ed Balls footwork was superior to Wayne Rooney’s.

It seems many people are fed up with English football including Mick Channon as when interviewed on Channel 4 racing he said he had no interest in the game at the moment.

These are sentiments I can sympathise with as a few days ago I read that Arsenal’s two stars Memit Ozil and Alexi Sanchez whose contracts are up for renewal can’t afford to play in the UK anymore unless their wages are increased from £140 thousand a week to a sum of £250 thousand a week.

The reason they gave was Brexit and the fall in the value of Sterling. My advice would be to send the greedy buggers packing and I’m a life long Gooner.

Mind you if I get to speak to the pair of them I would tell them to exchange some of their currency into gold rather than leave it in the bank earning negative interest as that’s where they can make a killing in the future as bullion will go through the roof sooner or later.

This coming Saturday is Champions day at Ascot which is one of the highlights of the British racing season with nearly every race a group one affair. So for Howies Hottie I’m going to give you two horses who could win on the big day.

Firstly Minding from the all conquering Aiden O’Brien camp. The filly has multiple enteries but I will back her where ever she runs as I thought she under performed last time in Ireland and is a better filly than she showed that day.

The second tip is Dean Ivory’s Labrisa Breeze who will only run if he is spot on after a superb win last time cutting through the field with a devastating burst in the final furlong. The horse drops in trip against top sprinters however if the ground comes up soft he will take some stopping.

HOT HANDICAPPERS

FLAT

Alfonso De Sousa trainer M.Appleby - Has dropped in the weights and can pick up an end of season race.

Bogart trainer K.Ryan - Sprinter who is knocking on the door.

St Michel trainer Sir M.Prescott - Looked all over the winner of the Cesarewitch until running out of steam 2 out.

George Bowen trainer R.Fahey - Ran a decent race at York and the trainer says he is one of the fastest on the home gallops. So I’m sure he will find a suitable opportunity before long.

Back next Wednesday be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
