What a cracking Saturday of racing it is. Lets not forget a superb National Hunt card at Market Rasen (the racing club has a max bet for there) and a strong card at Haydock. But lets be honest all eyes are on Newmarket for one of the great Flat cards of the year.

It has it all with cracking handicaps, group 1 races and the greatest cavalry Charge of the lot the Cambridgeshire to top it off. The Cambridgeshire is a race every Jockey, Trainer and owner want in their scrapbook. This year is like every other and is chock full of in form handicappers but unusually for this race it will be run on rattling fast ground which will infuriate many connections who will have expected plenty of cut at this time of year.

So we are looking for a horse with proven fast ground form at this specialist distance of one mile one furlong. There are some horses that need certain conditions to show their best and when they get those conditions will repeat their form time after time. All week I have been drawn to one such horse and the faster the ground the more confident I get that he is going to run a huge race. The horse is Bronze Angel trained by Marcus Tregonning and he has been aimed at today all year. Marcus is a past master at bringing horses to the boil and Bronze Angel will relish this fast ground. He is a peculiar horse in that he relishes big fields and a pace he can run at. Louis Steward knows him inside out and takes the ride and 3 pounds off.
