Hi ,

Our week started really well with 3 winning days on the bounce and some decent winners on the board. As the month draws to a close we can’t help look back and reflect on what might have been. So many hard luck stories and near misses have made it a slog. Yet we are still around break even. That’s poor for us during August but I really can’t help feeling that the constant change in weather pattern is really hurting us right now. Every time we get some sun it’s followed by a deluge of rain. Many of the owners whom we are associated with feel the same it can be very hard to predict how their horses will run. So in light of that I take the positives that we haven’t lost much and who knows September can be the month where we get back on track.

Today runs a horse that we highlighted a couple of newsletters ago. ASHPAN SAM he is currently around 8/1 in the 3:10 at EPSOM. He hasn’t run here since his win last year in a stronger race so we at least know he will handle the track and should go very close today.

I have heard a word for ARTIC FEELING in the same race and he is also tempting at around 16/1 the price is huge. It is a trappy race but these 2 horses should run really well.

EPSOM 2:35 OCEANUS is the one for us here anything around 4/1 can be considered value. They think they have the horse right for today and the step up of a furlong in trip should really help. They have run to get a mark yet still stick with the maiden route. The ground is much more suitable today so they are hoping for a big run.

3:45 SWISS CROSS 8/1 widely available is the one for us here. I have held off backing this horse on many occasions. Today could be his day he has a bit of sparkle back at home and is showing signs of a resurgence. Undoubtedly well weighted today it has taken a long time to get out of the handicappers grip now he just needs a confidence boost and I could see him notching up a sequence.

ALSACIENNE at 5/4 can’t be opposed here up in trip again from the Prescott stable how many times have we seen these go in and 5/4 although short looks like value to me I was expecting 8/11 so there is plenty left in the pot for us to dip our toe in.

LE TISSIER might be the one for the forecast as we were told to expect him to come into his own this season and was well backed at Brighton last time.

Hamilton 4:00 LIVELLA FELLA looks too big at 11/2 and Ladbrokes even have some 6/1 available that’s a price is huge. She has improved all season and continues to do so. We priced up this filly at 3/1 so there is a lot of value in the market with her. The form here behind DUBAI DYNAMO looks rock solid I would be surprised if she wasn’t in the places at least.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,
