Hi ,

A few decent priced winners have kept us in the game over the last week this included a huge gamble on ROYS DREAM put out at 14/1 (with a rule 4) he went off at 6/1 and totally blitzed his field for the inform Stubbs yard. Also we backed SKY GYPSY at 16/1 but another rule 4 meant we only got paid out 10/1. We need more though and we just haven’t found that rich vein of form this summer. It could well come at any time.

It’s just important right now to keep going through the motions. August can still end with a healthy profit. Still we are over 100 points up to 1 point level stakes – it’s not as much as we hoped for at this stage of the year but it does keep us on an upward trend. It has been tough and this month we have had loads of placed horses. Don’t read about it join us, be patient, play appropriately and moderately within your means and we will over the years allow you to build a large bank roll. It won’t be over night but we deliver long term profits year after year.

Here’s a couple of horses to watch out for both should be winning as soon as they get conditions to suit…

Spike (IRE)

• Age: 3 (Foaled February 10th, 2013)
• Sex: Bay Gelding
• Sire: Lilbourne Lad (IRE)
• Dam: Vintage Allure (IRE)
• Trainer: T D Barron
• Owner: Mr Ron Hull

Ran a good race for us but couldn’t see out the final furlong on the stiff track at Pontefract. I expect him to drop back to 5f or to run on a flat track over 6f. The horse is showing more at home right now.

La Rioja

• Age: 3 (Foaled February 4th, 2013)
• Sex: Bay Filly
• Sire: Hellvelyn
• Dam: Talampaya (USA)
• Trainer: H Candy
• Owner: Qatar Racing Limited

Hasn’t got her head in front yet this season but this is a filly I really like. I like the sire HELLVELYN he has turned out some nice types. A really nice mix of speed and stamina. This horse will win soon now the stable have got over the early season issues.

Have a look through our old bets for further inspiration there are plenty that could go on to win next time out like SON OF AFRICA finished well back the day we backed him only to bolt up the next race at a huge price. They are not machines and a bad run doesn’t always mean bad information!

Last week we only managed to find 1 winner around 8/1 but that would be enough for a profit.

Today we have a few selections for you to mull over.

TODAY'S RACING

CHELMSFORD 6:10 FOR SHIA AND LULA at 10/1 could well pop up today the horse has ran a little flat the last couple of runs but certainly has claims in this and I would expect a better performance today.

Newbury 6:50 It’s last chance saloon for us today with BOY IN A BAR around 7/1 he is a standout bet of the day. Things just haven’t been going his way. Our members will know we have backed him several times only to be pulled out. Today is the day we are told he is in peak condition so let’s hope for a little luck!

7:20 LAZER BLAZER is the one for us here. Has plenty of natural speed in his races this is used as a confidence boost before returning to the jumps and I think he has a great chance on what we are told. Around 6/1 in the live market is fair. Back from a decent break after the horse has a few niggles.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt - Unity Racing Club
