2nd August 2016

Hi ,

There are definite signs that our form is about to take off after a much better last week of the month sadly not enough to reach profit. We have been very unlucky though with lots of horses going really close. On one day we bet 2 horses the first a nose 2nd and the 2nd horse dead heated! Such a shame it would have been a really good day.

We did manage a 14/1 into 11/1 winner at Goodwood which was a welcome sight.

Last week’s newsletter contained some gold if you could dig it out. We advised the top 3 places in 2 races at Goodwood and multiple combination forecasts. As well as mentioning the winner in 5 of the races.

We will try to do the same for you here today.

14:15 Catterick 2 Aug 2016 British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (Class 5) (2YO only) Winner £3,234 - 7 run. Glitter Girl has the form in the book to win this race but 4/7 is not a price I like. Especially not when GOLCONDA PRINCE is in the line-up. This horse cost almost double as a yearling than it did as a foal. Half-brother to a group 2 winner and showing plenty at home despite being green I can see him running a nice race I just hope the penny drops during the race. 3/1 looks a bit of value against the favourite.

15:15 Catterick 2 Aug 2016 Dine And View At Catterick Races Handicap (Class 6) (3YO plus) Winner £2,264 - 12 run. Plenty of horses we have backed before in this race – we all know what can happen with horses we backed last time out as we saw yesterday with a 16/1 winner pink martini it just proves that in racing things can simply go wrong in a race. LIZZYS DREAM we backed last time 8/1 here she was a little unlucky last race and the stable are sound at present so she could be worth a small bet. The one we like is LOUMARIN 6/1 we backed the horse last time after a source told us it was training really well there was a huge gamble and the horse just came up short. Must have a good chance today. PAVERS STAR is another for the short list as the track suits this horse very well and 16/1 or bigger is huge the prices are value for a combination forecast and tricast bet.

16:45 Catterick 2 Aug 2016 Racing UK Anywhere Handicap (Class 6) (3YO plus) Winner £2,588 - 14 run. Hard to bet against MONJENI here we backed the horse on our service and it didn’t win but we are sure that he will sooner rather than later anything around 2/1 is kind of the right price though maybe even a little on the sharp side for my liking.

17:45 Catterick 2 Aug 2016 12th August Is Ladies' Evening Handicap (Div 2) (Class 6) (3YO only) Winner £2,588 - 10 run. CUPPATEA must have a good chance here and the Duffield stable are certainly one to keep an eye on at the minute. We often give out advice on who to keep the right side of. We told you the Carr stable are coming into form and they certainly have and will continue to do so over the following weeks but also we told you the JOHNSON-HAUGHTON stable were about to start firing and a huge treble proved us right again. However cuppatea should probably be in a rev forecast with BABY BALLERINA

18:50 Chelmsford City (A.W.) 2 Aug 2016 totepool Live Info Download The App EBF Maiden Stakes (Plus 10) (Class 4) (2YO only) Winner £6,469 - 7 run. It’s hard to oppose the favorite here SEE THE SEA 6/4 looks like saver material to us especially as it’s a strange looking race I am actually quite tempted by the huge priced horses and the bottom of the market. PADDY A fell last time when contesting a race far too short. Surprisingly well bred and 50/1 looks huge similar can be said of PENTITO RAP 66/1 also looks too big for a horse that is likely to win and from a really good family. IANS MEMORY 95 rated runs in the next race and has the same sire!

20:20 Chelmsford City (A.W.) 2 Aug 2016 Totepool Follow Us On Twitter Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Class 4) (3YO plus) Winner £6,469 - 10 run. CANONBURY is going really well at home and the stable think she could be hard to beat here on her way to better things and lots of future potential I think this could be a horse for the notebook. 10/3 looks fair but not generous

15:00 Salisbury 2 Aug 2016 Peter Symonds Catering Handicap (Class 5) (3YO plus) Winner £3,234 - 14 run. BOYINABAR we have bet twice without success but we have watched him work and he does strike me as the type to bounce back and sooner rather than later 7/1 today is a fair price and I shall give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for a drift.

17:35 Nottingham 2 Aug 2016 32Red Online Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (2YO only) Winner £2,911 - 10 run. SINGING SANDS has the form to win but is very short in price around even money it could pay instead to play SHEIKSPEAR at 16/1 who could make a decent debut the stable think they are in with a chance and that the colt will prove useful in time.

18:35 Nottingham 2 Aug 2016 10 Free At 32Red.com Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (3YO plus) Winner £2,911 - 7 run. Another pretty solid favourite in STRAWHAT but again the price is certainly short enough. It’s a race that a few are bred to be good so I just couldn’t take odds on. MACKSVILLE is 16/1 which looks over priced on what I know of the horse, he wasn’t cheap and has been showing a bit at home first time out though so no one really knows.

19:35 Nottingham 2 Aug 2016 32Red.com Handicap (Class 5) (3YO only) Winner £3,234 - 7 run. BALANCE has to be the one here at 9/4 I think the horse has the strongest form in the book thus far with the run behind naggers working out well. She has lots of upside potential.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt - Unity Racing Club
