Two Standout Racing Bets Today 

In racing Warwick stages a jumps meeting and the richest race on the card is a trappy handicap chase at 3.30pm. Seven of the eight runners have Racing Post Ratings from 145 to 150 and the other horse has a RPR of 141 so it’s a tight contest with any number of potential winners.  

Minellacelebration has decent form at a much higher level and was placed at Aintree in May. The horse is on a career high mark but there is still room for improvement. In a closely matched handicap the three pounds allowance for jockey Ben Poste can make all the difference so MINELLACELEBRATION is today’s standout racing bet:

They are racing on the Flat at Beverley and the nap of the meeting just has to be Kohinur in the 4.55pm race. It’s a maiden fillies’ contest and all six runners have race course experience. HOBBS FORM TO CONTINUE? 

This week we look at three trainers who are showing good form at this time in the racing calendar including PHILLIP HOBBS who so far has five winners in the bag this month at the time of writing. In fact Phillips horses have all run to form, even in defeat, apart from just two who were No Likey and Saint Saviour. It's not often I can say that about a trainer and Phillip deserves a pat on the back for being so precise and trying with all his horses.

This run of very good form looks set to continue for a while yet. Earth Lady is set to make her seasonal debut this week for the yard and seems sure to be better than last time we saw her as she is now back over a more suitable trip. A useful mare at her best. Danandy showed the benefit of a previous run when third at Fontwell last month, although not the best jumper of fences he could go well and is only 4lbs above his last winning mark. At Perth later in the week Hobbs has the lightly raced Scoop The Pot who could follow up his recent win at Worcester.

ANDREW BALDING still has his team in very good form. Andrew has won five races out of his last eight runners at the time of writing. Andrew is using William Cox, a claiming apprentice, as well as his usual pilots. This team are red hot at the moment and must be carefully scrutinised. Bacacarat, St Mary's and Meccabah all seem capable of adding to Andrews tally this week. Our must all note that Bacaarat, a Ravens Pass colt is owned by Leicester City chairman and could run at Leicester this week.

JULIA FIELDAN has her smallish string in good form after a slow start to the year....she has had only nine winner compared to twenty one last year. However Julia's horses are in better form now than previously and horses that look as if they could run well are Tallulah Queen, Mungo Madness and Best Example. Julia's poor run of form earlier in the year has resulted in many of her handicappers being now attractively weighted from reducing handicap marks...the above three fit the pattern. This yard could go on a winning spree be watchful!
