Sir Dancelot Can Give Ryan Moore His First Stewards' Cup Win

Ryan Moore travels around the world to ride in all the major international races but he wouldn't turn his nose up at a Stewards' Cup. The jockey seen by some as the best in the world has never won the heritage handicap which is the feature of the fifth day of Glorious Goodwood. The meeting is now called the Qatar Goodwood Festival but that will never catch on. Its almost like calling the Whitbread the bet365 Chase.

The big cheeses in Qatar must be miffed that despite investing millions in British racing none of their neighbours want to speak to them. The summer meeting at Goodwood is very much their baby but representatives from the country have been conspicuous by their absence. Maybe all the big hitters are in Paris spending some loose change on Neymar rather than come to Sussex to see the Qatar Stewards Cup.
