Before 2002 Royal Ascot was a four day meeting that ran from Tuesday to Friday. There was racing at the course on the Saturday but this was called the Heath Meeting. Every year some race goers turned up in morning suits and finery even though it was just a regular race day. The meeting now extends to the fifth day and the highlight is the Diamond Jubilee Stakes in which Jungle Cat can make the frame at a big price.
