Declan's Eye-Catchers - Follow These Future Winners...

ALLURINGLY (Aidan O'Brien) Probably the performance of the week on the level as this filly cruised through on the stands side at Tipperary to brush aside smart and match fit rival Dabulena with the rest of the field strung out like harbour lights behind. Goes for an Oaks Trial next.

BORN TO PLAY (Joe Murphy) Met serious traffic problems at a crucial stage when pipped by sharp looking winner Gold Spinner at Cork. Compensation awaits over nine or ten furlongs.

GLAMOROUS APPROACH (Jim Bolger) While the Bolger yard is making quite a splash in Dundalk they have yet to hit top gear on the turf but this lady ran a fine race when third in the Noblesse Stakes at Cork.

VENICE BEACH (Aidan O'Brien) Took a while to warm to his task over a mile and a half at Tipp, but upped the tempo big time and in truth could be called the winner as they turned for home. Quite where he rates in the Ballydoyle classic pecking order is hard to know, but he should continue to improve and could well be part of his trainer's usual formidable Irish Derby squad. Over the jumps . . .

BARGY LADY (Willie Mullins) just about everything that could go wrong did so in a classy Fairyhouse handicap where she finished fourth. Could make a quick reappearance and worthy of serious consideration if she does.

ENGLISH PALE (Jessica Harrington) It was notable that Robbie Power went to Cork rather than Fairyhouse last Sunday and this horse was the reason. All chance was lost after a bad error three out and he finished out with the washing but expect big improvement next time out.

MODEM (Jessica Harrington) Very useful reappearance after a long break at Fairyhouse. Didn't get the clearest of runs and landed a bit awkwardly when making up ground at the last. Finished fourth and must be noted if re-appearing at Punchestown and should also find opportunities on the flat this summer.

POTTERS POINT (Gordon Elliott) Bred for the game and was formerly with Willie Mullins so by this stage must be trained to perfection. Lightly raced so still has plenty to offer, he made a nice start over fences when a close but efficient winner at Fairyhouse on Tuesday and further progress looks assured.

THOMAS HOBSON (Willie Mullins) Won a big pot for his astute trainer at Fairyhouse despite Mullins fearing the two miles trip could be too short. Could follow up this week over a more suitable distance.
