Wednesday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

19th August 2015

Hi ,

I was very interested to hear that Surrey County Cricket Club had launched a mini-bond to help fund construction of a new stand at the Oval where England are soon to take on the crestfallen Aussies.

The bond will be open to members and the general public who wish to invest £2,000 or more and will pay 5.5pc a year for 5 years and will raise over £3.5 million towards the plan with the remainder being made up of a bank loan.

Mini-bonds have become popular over the last few years in sport with the Jockey Club having raised £25 million to finance a new stand at Cheltenham racecourse. Lancashire County Cricket Club and rugby club Wasps have also raised money using this formula.

What I find exciting is what if some of the smaller cricket or football clubs did this on a grander scale by perhaps offering a greater return on investment on much larger amounts to raise money for players. Can you imagine you could finish up with AB de Villiers playing for Sussex and Lionel Messi playing for Newcastle all funded by fans or investors.

Well today sees the start of the York Ebor meeting with probably the race of the season in prospect between Golden Horn, Gleneagles and Time Test. Who will win?

I haven't got a clue as they are all top class in their own right however it is a race to watch and savour.

In fact for Howies Hottie this week I'm not even playing at York but heading up to Carlisle for the 5.45. The one I have a fancy for is The Kid who is now with John Quinn after leaving the Dascombe team. He looks a stayer to me and the 14 furlongs should suit. So I expect him to go well here before perhaps being sent hurdling.

I want to make you aware that we are doing a 1 month special on my Betting Opportunity service which is well worth taking advantage of as in my opinion BetFan are selling it far too cheaply. Especially for a service that is tried and tested over time.

The return on investment for August so far is 56.94% following July where we made a return of 79.74%.

I hope you join but even more importantly I hope you stick with it even when results don't go our way. Which reminds me of the little episode of a couple weeks ago when 2 members of my Fold4Gold service were given refunds after a dodgy week. The next day this cracking Jackpot club landed a 200/1 winning double and it left me wondering how those 2 ex clients must be feeling as they cried into their beer.

EYE-CATCHERS

FLAT RACING

Gamesters Lad trainer M.Brisbourne - Came to win his race but either the track was to stiff or he never lasted home.

Thatcherite trainer T.Coyle - Noted finishing strongly at Beverley and seems on good terms with himself.

Goring trainer Eve Johnson Houghton - Ran well to be placed on ground softer than ideal.

Primrose Valley trainer E.Vaughan - Drawn on the wrong side at Newmarket but was 1st home on his side of the track.

Elusivity trainer P.Crate - I think he hit the front too early and got collared on the line. He is in form and loves soft ground.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
