The rules

The Betfan Prediction League 2026/27 is run by Betfan Ltd, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. By joining you agree to these rules.

Who can play

• You must be 18 or over and live in the UK or Ireland.
• It's free. No purchase, payment or bet is needed to play or to win.
• One entry per person. Each entry needs its own confirmed email address. We can remove duplicate or fake entries.
• Betfan staff and tipsters can play for fun but can't win prizes.

The rounds

There are 12 rounds, one on each of these days: Paddy Power Gold Cup day (14 Nov 2026, Cheltenham); Betfair Chase day (21 Nov 2026, Haydock); Coral Gold Cup day (28 Nov 2026, Newbury); Tingle Creek day (5 Dec 2026, Sandown); King George VI Chase day (26 Dec 2026, Kempton); Savills Chase day (28 Dec 2026, Leopardstown); Champion Hurdle day (16 Mar 2027, Cheltenham); Champion Chase day (17 Mar 2027, Cheltenham); Stayers' Hurdle day (18 Mar 2027, Cheltenham); Cheltenham Gold Cup day (19 Mar 2027, Cheltenham); Grand National Festival (9 Apr 2027, Aintree); Grand National day (10 Apr 2027, Aintree). If a meeting is abandoned or moved, we'll tell you what happens to that round by email.

Making your pick

• Pick one horse running at that day's meeting, on your own league page.
• You can change your pick as often as you like until the first race at the meeting is due off. Then all picks are locked.
• If you don't pick, you score 0 for that round.

Scoring

• If your horse wins, you score its Betfair starting price minus one. So a horse with a starting price of 9.0 (8/1) scores 8 points.
• If your horse doesn't win but places, you score 1 point. Places are as settled on the Betfair place market for that race.
• A non-runner, faller or loser scores 0.
• Results are as first declared. We don't change scores for later stewards' or appeal decisions.

Prizes

• Round winner: the highest score in each round wins one month of Betfan In-Form membership.
• Champion: the highest total after round 12 wins six months of Betfan In-Form membership.
• Beat the Betfan Horse: every player who finishes above the Betfan Horse after round 12 wins one month of Betfan In-Form membership.
• Ties are split by the biggest single round score, then by who joined first.
• Prizes are memberships, not cash, and can't be swapped for cash or passed to someone else.
• We'll email winners within 7 days. If we don't hear back within 28 days, the prize may go to the next player.

The Betfan Horse

The Betfan Horse is Betfan's own player. It picks Betfan's in-form selection at the meeting. It can't win prizes.

Your details

We use your name and email to run the league and send you round reminders and our free morning tips email. Your team name, or your first name if you don't set one, appears on the tables. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email.

Other

We can change or end the league if something outside our control means it can't run fairly. Our decision on any question about the league is final. Please gamble responsibly. Free support is at BeGambleAware.org.
