Saturday's Issue With Chris Anzani...

27th February 2016

Hi ,

JUST PIPPED FOR A HUGE 347/1 TREBLE and JUST TOUCHED OFF FOR A 90/1 THREE TIMER

Hello Good Morning and Welcome

Another Profitable week and Two out of Three Strike Bets Winning with the Third Selection Bet 1.04 in running and just touched off. It was also a case of Close Shaves on our Multiples. On Friday as well as the Strike Bets I put up Jaadu at Wolverhampton but he ran a bit free and got done in a photo for a 90/1 three timer.

No Bet Saturday and No Racing Sunday but on a quiet Monday I put up an EW Treble. The First Two Won and we had a 347/1 Treble running on to our third selection Threebagsue. The horse ran well and went bf2.0 in running but just got touched off. I don’t know if Clients hedged but a £10EW Bet would have copped £3,470 and you could have hedged say £1,000 if you wanted in running.

Don’t worry it’s just a question of time before we land The Big One!!

Re: the Friday. I have followed the career of Jaadu closely and although he got chinned at Wolver I will continue to follow the horse and he should come on for the run. I made a good note for the colt at Newmarket where he ran for the first time but just needed the outing and I was told he was useful by a Contact at the Yard. I bet him at Ascot next time but the race came too soon. I was on him big time at Goodwood where he was absolutely thrown in in a Nursery and he bolted up. The form of that race is solid and loads of the runners won next time. Jaadu has since been gelded and I look forward to betting him on the turf where he might be better on a straight seven furlongs.

Someone asked me how I could put up Theos Lolly and called him a dog. Have a look of the race on ATR and tell me he is a dog. That horse wanted to win – full stop. He is a game little tyke. He has never won before and he may well never win again but we were with him on the day and that’s all that matters. Eddie The Clock would be proud of me.

As I say we almost got a Life Changer on the quietest of Mondays. Where was I when all this was going off?? Coming back from the Beach!! After a week off for Mid Term my boy’s school decided to lob on an Inset Day and he was off for another day!! Tell me – what are they paying Teachers for? I am in the wrong job that’s for sure. To top it off junior produces some special offer tickets for Burger King and you get a Burger and Fries for £2. To be quite honest I had put my Bets on earlier and then switched the phone off for a bit of peace on our Away Day. Little did I know what was going on at Wolver. If I had got back in time I could have got a right few quid hedging the Bet. Instead I was stuck in a queue getting the burgers. The only saving grace was getting 2 x £2 off on the special vouchers for the meal – Well, you have to get the Value wherever you can!!!!

I promised Solid Weekly Profits and The Occasional Spectacular and from a quiet start we are gradually building up a Nice Tank. We won’t get really going till The Classics but there are plenty of pickings in the meanwhile and I will constantly be on the lookout for a Big Multiple to Land The Jewels!!

We started another winning week on Thursday when Eleuthera won nicely at Chelmsford. I hate it when Corals go biggest price as they don’t do it that often and obviously have a good reason to lay one and on this occasion were easily tops Eleuthera at 7/2 when I took a look on Oddschecker. They rarely get it wrong when they stick their head above the parapet but didn’t count on us this time and their money is now OURS!!

Chris Anzani Racing Vs Corals – How Do You Bet? It was never in doubt I suppose!

Have you ever heard of a bloke called Stanley Druckenmiller? Maybe not. SD has been a big player on Wall Street for a long time and for years ran The Quantum Fund on behalf of Mega Speculator George Soros. The duplicitous duo were the main architects behind the huge punt against the Pound when Norman Lamont got us thrown out of the Exchange Rate Mechanism causing the £ to be devalued and costing the Bank of England Billions trying to prop up the currency against the huge wall of money betting on a devaluation. Stanley’s investment philosophy is based on a simple ethos of “Home Runs and Preservation of Capital.”

By Home Runs he is always on the lookout for the Big Score where he can get the Absolute Caboodle whether it’s in Currencies or in The Stock Markets. In quieter waters he is happy to nick profits here and there keeping his Tank together, waiting for the next big opportunities to come along. .

Some of the best books I have ever read about Betting never once mention Horse Racing at all. There are a number of Books written by a guy called Jack Schwager that are well worth reading if you get a chance. The books he is most noted for concern a number of interviews he did with Top Traders on Wall Street where he interviewed the Investors to see what made them consistently and outstandingly successful. He then sought to define common traits to try and delineate themes that other investors might glean in order to improve their performance when betting in the markets. The first book is Called ‘Market Wizards’ which was supplemented with ‘New Market Wizards’ and a few others.

At the end of the books he draws up a list of the best practices that arose following the interviews. One observation that stuck with me is that every investor/punter inevitably ends up with a betting strategy that suits his/her personality. Just as there are some punters who like to back favs there may be others who like big handicaps and each way plays. Some others may chase the big win while some punters like to stick with their regular bet. People are different. I suppose my Betting Philosophy mirrors that of Druckenmiller in that I want to chip away every day making profits wherever I can but I am always on the lookout for Home Runs or the Big Sixes as well.

Funnily enough, the day before Black Monday when the £ got sunk causing Norman Lamont to come out on the Street to tell the Nation he had just lost them Bundles, I was playing Cricket in Dulwich in South London. One guy on our team was a top economist with Lloyds Bank and I asked this chap called Bruce if he thought the pound would fall. He said that the Bank of England had untold reserves and no way would it go in one hit though he thought the ERM mechanism was flawed and needed modifying in time. In work the following day I told all and sundry MY (i.e.Bruce's) View on the Matter only to be shown up later in the day when it all went pear in The City. When it came to opening my big mouth thereafter I tended to stick to the horses.

We will continue to chip away and see if we can get our Considerable Cheltenham Exes in the next couple of Weeks. I Can’t Wait!!!

Be Lucky and May The Gambling Gods Be With You.

Back next Saturday.
