Declans Eyecatchers - Add These Future Winners To Your List!

ALPHA CENTAURI (Jessica Harrington) This jumbo size juvenile filly - "She's bigger than most of my jumpers, I kept ringing up people when she arrived saying there was some kind of mix up" - took no prisoners on her debut at Naas on Bank Holiday Monday. She routed the opposition right from the start. Could be anything.

CREGGS PIPES (Andy Slattery) Nine and a half furlongs on very heavy ground in a hot contest at Gowran Park found her out last weekend, but she should bounce back over a shorter trip on any ground. Her trainer keeps saying she needs soft but she won twice on Leopardstown firm summer going and believe me that's as fast as ground can be.

HYPERDRIVE (Jessica Harrington) Has already made our lists and hope you were on - and at 7/2 as our Irish Racing Service subscribers were - when he won as 100/30 jolly at Limerick last Sunday. The ground was as fast as he would like it, and he looks the type to win a high class mile and a half handicap.

NAUGHTY OR NICE (John Oxx) The popular Curragh trainer has a lovely batch of fillies this season and this one overcame unfavourable ground at Gowran Park for a winning debut. Her odds of 20/1 would imply that she may have run above expectations, but Oxx explained "Well, we just didn't know, she's very lazy at home so we hoped going to the track might wake her up and it clearly did."

RIVEN LIGHT (Willie Mullins) Far from resting on his laurels after his nail biting victory in the jump trainers title race, Mullins is planning a hectic flat campaign with the versatile Wicklow Brave - last year's Irish St Leger winner - leading the charge in the Ascot Gold Cup. Our tip here wasn't included in the lists of probable names he mentioned, but there are those around Closutton who think this horses would prove very smart racing "on the level."

THE TARTAN SPARTAN (Pat Shanahan) This out and out stayer won over a mile and six at Salisbury and is a likely contender for the Ascot Stakes. Handles any ground.

MODERN APPROACH (Jim Bolger) Was badly hampered over a furlong out at Limerick and while only beaten a neck was not awarded the race in the Stewards Room to the mystification of many. To make matters worse winning jockey Anna O'Brien got a one day ban though she did everything she possibly could to keep her horse running in a straight line.

* "There must be a mole in my yard" said Jessica Harrington after Alpha Centauri (see above) was a well supported 2/1 winning favourite in the opener at Naas.

Obviously we can't reveal our sources, but we tipped her at 5/1 on our Irish Racing Service.
