Wednesday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

7th October 2015

Hi ,

Well there is only one place to start todays column and that's with the fantastic win by Golden Horn in the Arc. It was a wonderful feat to win from a wide double figure draw which is so difficult at Longchamp.

I can not give Frankie Dettori enough praise for the ride he gave the horse as he chartered a wide course before moving across to track the pacemakers. At times I used to think that Frankie was not as good as Fallon or Ryan Moore but this ride is something even the great Lester Piggott would have been proud of.

The winning performance of Golden Horn makes him one of the best horses of the current century and puts him up there with See The Stars and Frankel. He is in my opinion the best Epsom Derby winner we have seen for many a year and has nothing more to prove to anyone.

It's a wonderful thing to see the Derby form upheld as our Derby is the real deal and all the others including the Irish, French, Kentucky etc,etc are just copies of our great race. In fact my old mate Al Murray (the pub landlord) would say it's a JOKE there is only one Derby the English one.

Now on a day where the World and its wife were concentrating on the Arc my betting boots went in a different direction as my Fold4Gold service smashed in a near 80/1 winning treble which followed a 20/1 winning place treble earlier in the week.

Mind you Betting Opportunity didn't do badly also cracking home a 20/1 double to go 3rd in the Betfan table, Fold4Gold is the current leader with 166 points in the first week of October.

I have been at this game for years and I was gob smacked to see so many punters and tipsters putting up Arc bets and tips. Lets face it would you want to back against Treve?

So as another mate of mine says Winston Wolf tipsters who concentrated on the Arc must be prize plums.

The guys at Betfan are doing a special deal to join Fold4Gold which is £39 for 3 months so I advise you to get stuck in as it's a JOKE of a price for a service that has been on the Betfan portfolio for many years and year in year out hits profit and with a good return on investment.

You will rarely ever see me put up stakes over 10 points on a days betting as I'm a believer in small risks and big rewards. However I have noticed lots of these new online and offline tipsters put out lots of selections on a days racing risking as much as 40 points. To me this is not professional and what makes it worse the more losers they have the more tips they advise.

So if you want the best value around I suggest you jump on Fold4Gold because it's available at a cost that is a fraction of inferior services.

Just thinking back to the Arc wouldnt it be great if when they retire to stud Golden Horn is mated with Treve. It's what I would call a marriage made in Ladbrokes.

Today's racing is a bit of a minefield with 50% of the flat cards being 2 year old events which can me very tough to fathom so for Howies Hottie I'm going in the 4.45 Nottingham which is a 10 furlong handicap.

The tip is Lahayeb from the Mick Appleby camp. The filly has been off for a while but she is a course winner and loves soft ground and it's possible this very shrewd trainer can find more improvement in her.

EYE-CATCHERS

Hope you were all on Ebtihaal yesterday as if you read my comments on 22nd Sept -Noted staying on from the rear last time and I'm sure you will see a more street wise horse next time.

FLAT

Candesta trainer Julia Fielden - Led most of the way before tiring at Chelmsford after a break. She will come on for this run.

Empire Storm trainer M.Attwater - Ran into a place in big handicap at Ascot last week and could have more to offer.

Professor trainer M.Attwater - Ran in the same race as Empire Storm showing up well to the closing stages. He is well handicapped on old form and should be kept on the right side.

Manolito trainer H.Morrisson - A good winner at Wolverhampton after meeting trouble in running. There could be more to come from this improver.

JUMPS

Workbench trainer D.Skelton - Easy Fontwell winner this young chaser is at the right end of the handicap.

Souriyan trainer J.Snowden - The gelding ran well on his seasonal debut and he could be one to follow especially when the muds flying.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
