Sunday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

20th September 2015

Hi ,

Well we are absolutely flying this month and after a strong St Leger meeting we have continued our form into the Ayr Gold Cup meeting.

I've spent two days at Newbury on horrible sticky ground and I would draw a line through the form to be honest. The Gosden team were all scratching their heads in the paddock after Eagle Tops dreadful display in the Arc Trial although on tiring ground Dettori made the pace and maybe went too hard as the horse was clearly knackered.

I can’t help thinking this was Dettori reacting to all the people who slagged him off for earlier hold up rides on the horse, anyway who knows where we will see this horse next surely not the Arc!

I watched all The Arc Trials last Sunday and if Treve turns up on the big day in the same mood we saw her in last Sunday everyone else may as well stay at home, she was awesome and was the subject of a very interesting debate in a famous Newmarket Hotel Bar this Tuesday.

Here's the quandary and I will then tell you my view, both horses would be at their peak on a track that suited them both on soft ground, over 1 mile two furlongs who would win Frankel or Treve?

Now Frankel was trained in Newmarket so it is understandable this got a little heated but it may surprise you I plumped for Treve by a whisker. Have the debate with your friends and let me know on Facebook what you decide.

I will give you a clue as to what swayed me, it's a French horse other than Treve and it's still racing!!

Anyway yesterday in a real race my members got stuck into Don’t Touch early yesterday morning when there was lots of juicy 8/1 available. We backed it to win and boy did it win. I watched it in the on course Bookmaker shop surrounded by people telling me 3 year olds don’t win Ayr Gold Cups, looks like no one mentioned that stat to the horse as he fairly bolted in.

He will be in all the big sprints next year but I’m hearing Fahey will step him up in trip, I would love to see him race Limato over seven furlongs!!

Fahey has sent a message to young master O'Meara this season about who is top dog up North. It will be fascinating to see the response. Exciting times up there.

Down in Newmarket the big story is poor old Luca Cumani having 36 horses removed and sent to Roger Varian! Including the King George winner Postponed. I've been hearing for months that relations had soured and Luca is not always the easiest to deal with but this seems a little drastic. It will hurt him and his team will be devastated but the old adage he who pays the bills makes the decisions springs to mind. If Varian were to win the Arc with Postponed he may look a little embarrassed but it's not his fault. Cumani has many more winners left in him but this will be very painful.

To celebrate our barnstorming month I'm going to make every one reading this column a very special offer.
