Sunday Issue

12th April 2015

Hi %%First Name%%,

Aintree is done and dusted for another year and all the stats nerds who say horses can't win because they are too young or carrying too much weight have gone very quiet as the young Many Clouds with loads of weight romped to glory.

Oliver Sherwood one of the genuine nice guys of National Hunt Racing has always believed in this horse and wasn't that faith repaid. The horse has the heart of a lion and when he took it up I knew nothing would get by him.

Should McCoy have gone on when he was cruising round, possibly, but the horse was very fresh and you have to question the logic of keeping Shutthefrontdoor off the track for so long because he was so buzzed up to be racing again it probably cost him the race. AP doesn't look like a man who wants to retire to me and Sandown will be dancing a jig because the party will end there on the final day of the season and maybe he will ride Shutthefrontdoor there.

We had a really good Aintree with big priced winners and profit on each day which I was thrilled with as this place is arguably the toughest Festival of the lot. Sizing Granite was a max bet at 6/1 for us yesterday morning and you should all keep him on your side. It's the first time I've seen him in the flesh and his is still a big baby, what an engine and what a jumper. As many of you know I have good links with this yard and they think this one is going to the very top. He has been kept away from the Mullins monsters for now but that will change next season!

Cyrius Darius was our big winner on the Friday and this Malton star was kept under the radar by the wily Jefferson. We got on in the morning and the Don was chuckling as various "experts" told him it couldn't win. It won by ten lengths and had fave backers weeping in their lager.

Aintree itself was in great shape this week and was very well organised and less loutish than Gold Cup day. It's a big enough venue to find space and if you want to see the horses you can and still get a vantage point. I shall travel back to Newmarket today and look forward to returning next year. I delivered yet again at a big Festival and we are showing a healthy profit on the year. You know where to come, no bells and whistles just every bet a genuine on course pro does!

Trust in the Don he's A number 1.

Our bet runs in the first in the 2.10 at Leopardstown and is the once raced Zanndar 11/10 with Paddy Power for this daughter of Azamour who is highly regarded. She is the first runner from my two year olds to back from last year list as to me she will improve immensely this year given her breeding.

Have a great Sunday and Don't miss out on big priced Festival winners anymore.

Back next Sunday.
