27th September 2017

Hi ,

I have always been an advocate of syndicates and racing clubs as it’s a superb way of getting involved in ownership for a fraction of the full cost. This Sunday the cream of European racing gather at Chantilly for the Arc De Triumph meeting.

Billionaire owners, Kings, Dukes, Princes and the ultra wealthy will be chasing the biggest prizes in horse racing however socialising with them will be fifty owners of the Elite Racing Club who have won a ballot to attend the meeting from the 10,000 strong membership.

The reason they are there is they all own a share in the brilliant speedster Marsha who will be contesting the 5 furlong L Abbaye where she is trying to win the race for the second time. A prize of £150,000 awaits the winning connections who had originally paid an annual fee of £200 to join the club.

Win or lose after the race the Sir Mark Prescott trained filly will probably either go to the breeders cup or the sales to become a brood mare having given her owners some fantastic days racing and excitement.

There are many different syndicates about to suit every ones pocket if this is something that floats your boat. In fact my girlfriend Barbara is part of a greyhound club run by Norah McEllistrim where you can have a share in a number of dogs for just £250. It’s great fun and they have a young pup Balibo Bonnie running today at Hove.

We have some nice racing today in particular the card at Goodwood where I will play Howies Hottie in the 4:50 a six furlong sprint. My fancy is Abiento who hit form last time with a win but I still think he has more in the tank and is ahead of the handicapper.

EYE-CATCHERS

FLAT

London trainer P.McEntee - Front runner who was collared in the final furlong at Yarmouth. He looks well handicapped and can win when getting an easy lead.

Maarek trainer Evanna McCutcheon - An old timer seen staying on strongly last time who plies his trade on both sides of the Irish Sea and can win especially when the mud is flying.

Sternrubin trainer P.Hobbs - Ran well at Newmarket over 18 furlongs but found the trip a little to far. He is fit and can win on the flat or over hurdles.

Back next Wednesday be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
