Wednesday Issue

8th April 2015

Hi %%First Name%%,

With Man City losing to Palace on Monday night they might not even be certain of securing 4th place this season. Mind you Chelsea still have to Play Arsenal and Man Utd so they can't afford any slip ups if they are to take the Premier League title.

Which to me makes the end of season all the more exciting. Then at the other end of the table I still think it's any three from six in the relegation battle.

This week sees the start of some super jump racing at Aintree with the highlight the wonderful spectacle of the Grand National. Now last year a few of the BetFan tipsters including yours truly put up the winner Pineau De Re at big odds stealing each others thunder so this time round I'm trying to get in first.

I'm nailing my colours to the mast of Soll for this weeks Howies Hottie. The giant gelding is now trained by David Pipe who has not had him that long however he has won his only two races for the West country trainer.

Since David fitted the horse with blinkers he has improved each race and he gets in here with 10-2lbs which looks rather lenient. Also don't forget he finished 7th in this race two years ago.

Tom Scudamore will be on top trying to emulate the feat of his late grandfather Michael who won the National aboard Oxo in 1959.

Soll is available at 25/1 with Hills and 20/1 with Bet Victor who are paying on six places.

Whoever wins lets hope it's a great race and all horses and jockeys come back safe and sound.

EYECATCHERS

FLAT RACING

Sovereign Debt trainer D.Nicholls - The unluckiest loser I have seen for ages when denied a clear run at Lingfield as he would have won eased down if not finding trouble.

Rivellino trainer K.Burke - He could never get competitive from a wide draw and he is miles better than his finishing postion would indicate.

Mr Red Clubs trainer M.Appleby - Found the extra furlong too far and a return to a mile will suit him.

Queen Catrine trainer C.Hills - Another who ran below par but she looked like she needed the outing and can leave this form way behind.

Mad With Love trainer J.Gosden - She cut out the running at Kempton and the trainer might find she will be suited to shorter or even sprinting.

Pyromaniac trainer A.Martin - Ran placed in heavy ground in Ireland last week and could be suited by a drier surface.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
