I’m down at Ascot today at the start of a very busy 7 days culminating in the St Leger next Saturday.

The Worlds oldest Classic will end four days of fabulous punting on the Town Moor.

The Simon Holden Racing Club will have at least four big gambles every day from Wednesday to Saturday so get involved I have a tremendous record from this Festival and intend to add to that this week.

But lets get a brilliant card at Ascot out of the way first and look at the 3.55 a heritage handicap over a mile and a half, the Appletiser Stakes. I won’t be drinking that I assure you I prefer Magners as an Apple based drink but hey thanks for sponsoring.

It is good money and at Ascot so as you would imagine lots of the usual suspects have turned out for it but there is a horse I strongly fancy and it’s from a yard who are flying. The horse is Anythingtoday trained by in form Hugo Palmer. The Newmarket based handler endured a nightmare few months but all is well now and he has them winning right left and even up the centre.

Anythingtoday is stepped up in trip today and I think that can bring about further improvement. The horse goes on any ground but with some cut is at its best. Josephine Gordon takes the ride and she is in sensational form like the Trainer and will ride this with plenty of confidence. The horse won at Newmarket in a race that was strong for the grade and I believe can win again today. With 4 places the each way 10/1 with William Hill was too good to miss.
