Hi ,

Really nice horses in focus section last week as we hit 2 very welcome winners. We said… ‘3:10 BROTHER MCGONAGAL 6/1 is just running himself into form right now and is certainly capable of better as he matures. I don’t think he is the finished article yet and should soon start moving his mark forward. They always thought he was better than a 60 rated horse.’

Well he stayed on in good fashion to just take it on the line but had drifted in the betting to 9/1 sp so a nice little extra bonus for backers. Also we said… ‘3:20 although there is a short favourite our ratings suggest that drifter ASKARI 8/1 is the horse to be with hopefully the extra distance will see the horse in a better light but I would rather take a risk at 8/1 then pay odds on for Albert boy who only ranks 3rd best in our ratings.’

The horse pretty much made all kicking clear and never getting caught! A very nice result for the service let’s see if we can find some more today.

TUESDAY’S HORSES IN FOCUS

Salisbury 2:00 Stakes (Class 4) 6f A very short priced favourite here and plenty in favour of INITIATIVE but at 6/4 the price isn’t big enough to get involved. While the horse posted a decent time the record of horses getting beaten in maidens after finishing 2nd is larger than expected. Also these are usually horses that are over bet too. The 2nd favourite has shown consistency in 2 races and may have a chance. Also at a big price there is a chance that GRAND ACCLAIM may be good enough first time up and 16/1 is certainly worth a chance.

Salisbury 3:30 Handicap (Class 5) 5f KINGS ACADEMY 14/1 was supposed to do better in his last race but ran keen and didn’t stay the 7f trip back in distance today if he gets near the front early he may stay there. He has some pace if he doesn’t do well today then it becomes more difficult to find his trip. RED ALERT is the main danger and should also go well today.

Salisbury 4:00 Handicap (Class 3) 10f DUBARA 2/1 looks short at first glance but there is plenty of value in that price based on our ratings the horse should be odds on showing huge steps forward in the last few races and any further improvement here should have the horse win easily.

Salisbury 4:30 Handicap (Class 5) 12f A good old fashioned punt here from a yard that this is expected from. I’ve now heard this horses name from a ton of people this morning. With all the usual signs of a horses plotted to win so 7/2 is still a decent price for ONORINA the horse comes out 2nd best on the ratings but with the extra info that looks reasonable but not generous.

Yarmouth 2:45 Handicap (Class 5) 12f BOSTONIAN 7/2 looks the type to do better and one would have to think there is a reason to keep training the horse. Last spin at Goodwood was pretty decent. He would be worth a chance.

Yarmouth 3:45 Handicap (Class 4) 8f I think this race will throw up loads of future winners and thus looks trappy. A chance can be made for many in the race but largely they have all been found by the market bar 1 and that is GLENDUN at 22/1 the realistic chance for the horse we make around 6/1 so 22/1 is simply too big to ignore and what ever happens today backing that profile will return a profit so that horse is the selection.

Yarmouth 4:45 Handicap (Class 6) 7f THE HAPPY HAMMER is the oldest in the race but is well overpriced at 20/1 he comes out well on the ratings from his last race over this track and trip and shedding a few more pounds can only help. He still has wins in him and may be able to exploit this much lower turf mark.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt
