Hi ,

It’s amazing to think we have less than two weeks until the Derby with the puzzle looking less clear than ever with Churchill looking a very unlikely runner as he is going for the Irish 2,000gns this weekend.

Aiden O’Brien still looks like he will be mob handed in the classic which to me means he hasn’t got an outstanding colt this time round. The Godolphin team have a couple of lively chances but again nothing that shouts champion amongst them.

Then we have one of my favourite horses Eminent and Cracksman both sons of Frankel who could win but will they stay the 12 furlongs? So could it be one of those years where something appears totally unconsidered and romps home?

I’m sure you have read about the doping scandal surrounding the Hughie Morrison stable where one of his horses was found to have run with a banned substance earlier in the year at Wolverhampton. He could lose his licence but it’s crazy as he had nothing to gain.

We all believe he has been victimised by someone who has a vendetta against him or the yard. It all sounds like something out of a Dick Francis novel but we all know Hughie to be as straight as a dye.

Did you all have a nice bet on Howies Hottie Master Craftsman last week as he hosed up with all Betting Opportunity and Fold4Gold clients advised at 16/1. Also if you just like freebie winners I do put a few on my Twitter page from time to time.

If I blow my own trumpet one has to say the Howies Hotties have been in cracking form the last few weeks so lets see if we can keep up the good work. I’m playing in the 4.10 Lingfield on Powerful Wind. It’s a 5 furlong sprint and the selection went off far to fast last time and never got home over the undulations at Chepstow. This track will suit him better and I’m hoping this fast starter will get over to the rail which is at times a golden highway and make it pillar to post.

FLAT

Rummaging trainer M.Halford - Stayed on well last time and one to look out for in Ireland.

Taexali trainer J.Shanahan - Another Irish horse who does venture over the water at times went well at Chester on a course that didn’t suit him.

Inlawed trainer E.Walker - Ran on from the back at Windsor and the run can be upgraded.

Valley of Rocks trainer M.Johnston - Ran too freely until fading and can win over shorter or with a more considerate ride.

Like no Other trainer L.Eyre - Came from the back at Wetherby and might prefer another furlong.
