18th October 2016

Hi ,

We are glad to be reporting from a position of profit. We landed a couple of recent winners including 8/1 sp DREAMS OF GLORY yesterday and we managed to get on GARDE LE VICTOIRE at 11/2 the day before that. It all bodes well for the future as we carry on our upward curve.

It’s time to start thinking about the jumps. I have 3 horses to follow for the jump season. One of which has a chance in the national.

• Le Breuil (FR)
• Age: 4 (Foaled February 18th, 2012)
• Sex: Chestnut Gelding
• Breeding: Anzillero (GER) - Slew Dancer (Fabulous Dancer (USA))
• Trainer: B Pauling
• Owner: Miss Emma Collins

This is a nice young horse. He won his opening bumper by 10l. Richard Johnson was bowled over by the display and if his progress continues he could well go for the champion bumper. Really nice well bred horse. He is entered on the 20th Oct at Carlisle. That race should tell us a lot about how he has been over the summer. This guy could well be a future star.

• Silvergrove
• Age: 8 (Foaled March 19th, 2008)
• Sex: Bay Gelding
• Breeding: Old Vic - Classic Gale (Classic Cliche (IRE))
• Trainer: B Pauling
• Owner: Nicholas Piper & Claire E Piper

This 8 year old is still improving and simply jumps like a stag and gallops on resolutely. This could well be the horses year and an entry in the Becher chase should prove him very capable. It’s likely he will have 3 runs before April but he will need to win. He won’t get in the national off his mark now despite the already impressive improvement. He looks to have improved at home and this year could be his.

• Charbel (IRE)
• Age: 5 (Foaled March 15th, 2011)
• Sex: Bay Gelding
• Breeding: Iffraaj - Eoz (IRE) (Sadler's Wells (USA))
• Trainer: K C Bailey
• Owner: Mrs Julie Martin and David R Martin

This horse was bought for a huge amount of money around quarter of a million. A purchase simply to win at the Cheltenham Festival. He did well last year, hasn’t a lot of miles on the clock and is the type on breeding to improve with age and racing. I think he will do just that and this season I can see this horse winning some really good races and maybe at some decent odds too. No entries yet but he will be trained with the festival in mind. I like this horse a lot!

We will have 3 more horses to follow every week for the next 5 weeks!

Tuesday’s Horses In Focus

EXETER 3:10 CAULFIELDS ADVENTURE – Emma thinks she has this horse right for today so he is worth a bet at around 4/1. Connections money was going down last night at much bigger prices but if the trainer is right we should be on a winner- she knows the horse pretty well.

KEMPTON 6:10 I would take either DAGONET for Roger Charlton or the new comer RIPP ORF to beat the favourite. While the first horse has the experience RIPP ORF is well bred and liked at home. Of course being out of a DARSHAAN mare the horse will need a trip in time he may be good enough to win a contest like this. 7/1 looks fair to me.

NEWCASTLE 2:30 RERUN 7/2 for the Fahey yard should improve enough to win this contest there will be competition and the Godolphin horse won’t be far away.

4:30 MAGIC CITY has been laid out for this race. No good recent form yet good old Mick thinks he has a win in him today and I’m not the sort that wouldn’t take his word for it. He is a very shrew customer so I have no reason to doubt the horse won’t be far away. Around 5/1 in the market looks short on form alone.

5:00 RURAL CELEBRATION was trained to win last time out but it didn’t quite come off so connections have thrown him back in while he is peaking so I could not bet anything else. Around 4/1 looks fair enough to me

YARMOUTH 3:50 RIO RONALDO around 8/1 looks like a value bet he has been running better than his form figures suggest and is more than capable in this type of race. I expect him to not be far away.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt
