Hi ,

A few decent priced winners have kept us in the game over the last week but we do need to start firing. We are overdue a big winning day. It could well come at any time. Don’t read about it join us, be patient, play appropriately and moderately within your means and we will over the years allow you to build a large bank roll. It won’t be over night but we deliver long term profits year after year.

Here’s a couple of horses to watch out for both should be winning as soon as they get conditions to suit…

• Ashpan Sam
• Age: 7 (Foaled May 11th, 2009)
• Sex: Bay Gelding
• Breeding: Firebreak - Sweet Patoopie (Indian Ridge)
• Trainer: David Drinkwater
• Owner: Advantage Chemicals Holdings Ltd

David hasn’t got many horses but has made a bright start and horses he has in are running well. This fella takes me back a few years. It feels like he should be a 10yo by now. Not so though in his work. He has found some enthusiasm for the game and I’m pretty sure he will win soon. He was sent off at 18/1 when we backed him and was only a couple of lengths behind. Class 3 race and slightly firmer ground will suit really well.

• Celtic Sixpence (IRE)
• Age: 8 (Foaled March 13th, 2008)
• Sex: Bay Mare
• Breeding: Celtic Swing - Penny Ha\'penny (Bishop of Cashel)
• Trainer: N Kent
• Owner: Cynthia Commons, Nick Kent

This mare is well handicapped at present. We liked her at Doncaster but we were hoping the ground was riding a little softer than it turned out. She likes some cut but when she gets that I can see her sluicing up in a race.

TODAY'S RACING

KEMPTON 2:15 I like the chance of CORNELIOUS around 9/1 he looks a bit of value in a tightly priced market PIKESCORNERCROSS would be an alternative around 7/1. It’s a tough race and cases can be made for quite a few of these.

2:45 While favourite HONORINA has every chance it doesn’t make a good bet. ENTRENCH at 7/1 should go better on the poly track today and could be a play. Yet JUSTFORSHOW catches the eye and is bred from a dam that produces winners and a Dubawi high up on the stallion’s side. It’s fair to say she could leave her previous form behind on what should be a perfect surface at 50/1 is just a bit too tempting.

5:15 SMOOTHTALKINGRASCAL 9/1 will surely get his head in front soon he has fallen about 48lbs down the handicap and it shouldn’t be long until his turn comes. It could well be today and the price is about good enough to take the risk.

Back Next Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

Matt - Unity Racing Club
