Hi ,

I did say last week that we should start firing pretty soon and that has been the case with an 8/1 sp earlier in the week with TOPSOIL. We then had a quiet few days and up pops a 16/1 advised 12/1 sp winner - HIGHWAY ROBBER for Wilf STORY. Connections made a few quid on the quiet with that one. An important win for us as it has put us into a profitable position this month. We now have something to build on as we try to build a big score again this month after a below par July.

We didn’t get the rub of the green. We had plenty of close shaves but we were unlucky time and again. Still onwards and upwards. I am sure it won’t be long before our next huge winning day.

Last week’s Newsletter was a bit below par as we only really managed to highlight 1 winner. We have been delivering the goods up to that point so it will be nice if we can bounce back with a strong week now.

There are some interesting little meetings today for sure so let’s get on with a little insight.

Thirsk 15:00 Winner Betting Odds 1m class 5 Tobey Stewart 1st Birthday Handicap (3yo plus). Plenty of chances but the top 2 in the betting look pretty strong. Connections of WHITKIRK 6/1 think the gelding will go close today. They think the horse is improving and becoming mentally stronger. He has been a bit backwards but has only had 9 runs and they hope the best is yet to come. If he can see it through they think he could have improved 5-10lbs. DARK WONDER would be one for the forecast and rates as the main danger to the selection at 4/1. Yet there are plenty of others with claims too.

15:30 Winner Betting Odds 5f class 4 Follow racing_uk On Twitter Handicap (3yo plus). SAVANAH BEAU 12/1 at the time of writing is the one we are interested in here. The track should suit her to a tee and she has dropped in the weights. She could still need drop a few pounds of course but if she drops more and shows improved form for it then she wouldn’t be 12/1. She has just started coming to herself this season and should show up well here. I certainly think it’s the better opportunity of her 2 entries.

Chepstow 14:45 Winner Betting Odds 7f 16y class 5 ROA/Racing Post Owners' Jackpot Nursery. LUDUAMF at 11/4 makes some appeal in this race but it’s very tight this morning we have has word that DEVILISH GUEST is looking look and this race is the target.

Chepstow 15:15 Winner Betting Odds 1m 14y class 6 Diamond Racing Handicap (3yo plus). The race looks like a match between the top two in the market or at least that’s what the bookmakers would have us believe but I quite like the chance of PRIM AND PROPER at around 8/1. I thought the horse could be a worthy each way play as a bet to nothing but now the race has cut up to 7 runners a small straight win is probably the best play.

Chepstow 15:45 Winner Betting Odds 6f 16y class 4 Dribuild Dash Handicap (Round 5 Of The Chepstow Sprint Series) (3yo plus). Another race cut up with none runners may have worked out well for MIDNIGHT RIDER at 7/2 from the Millman yard and they do fancy this one to go in today.

Lingfield 17:10 Winner Betting Odds 5f class 6 Premier League Betting At 188Bet Nursery. SPIN TOP is the one we know about here gradually coming to himself we are expecting as personal best today at 7/1 looks a little value. Of course you never know with 2yos as progress could be rapid for one of his rivals but he is a nice looking type from a sire that does well with 2y olds that improve as the season goes on. ROYAL MELODY is worth a punt at 16/1 that price is huge for a horse that is really getting it together on the track and the drop back to 5 here may suit. Only placed once in 4 starts but the horse has learned plenty for it – certainly a horse I expect to win this season.

There is not much we can see at NOTTINGHAM so we will leave it there for today and don’t forget if you are looking for winners for free then horses we backed last time are available in our proofing and they do win there have been several at big prices this week that couldn’t do it on the day for us but have gone on to win since even if running bad on the day. That’s horse racing.
