Hi ,

We are are only a few weeks away from the English football season taking centre stage again yet the guys who choose our new national team manager are dithering over making a decision.

I must admit the main candidates do not inspire with Sam Alladyce and Steve Bruce both good men but far better at fire fighting in trying to keep clubs in the top flight rather than winning top trophies.

Lets face it it’s very unlikely that Wenger or Mourinho will take the job so perhaps why not take a gamble on young Eddie Howe with Shearer and Rio Ferdinand to give him a hand.

My Betting Opportunity had a cracking day last Saturday when we landed the Tin Man @ 3/1 and Soldier in Action @ 13/2 making a juicy 30/1 winning double. Mind you my other services were basically marking time but that’s betting it’s all swings and round abouts or snakes and ladders but this is something professional gamblers understand where as amateur punters must have to learn and educate themselves to accept peaks and troughs.

Those of us who bet for a living or want to bet for a living must always think the glass is half full not half empty and if you accept that philosophy you will be on the road to success in all walks of life.

I don’t find todays racing that inspiring but Howies Hottie goes in the 5.45 at Bath on the Jamie Osborne trained Oratorios Joy who has a far lower rating on turf than he has on the all weather surface. He will be ridden by Timmy Murphy who has made the transition from jumping to the flat with a degree of success. One thing I will say Timmy was the only jockey in my opinion who was stronger in a finish than the great A.P. So hopefully our tip will get every help from the saddle.

HOT HANDICAPPERS

FLAT

Horrah trainer R.Charlton - On a good mark but might be better at 7 furlongs.

Rex Imperator trainer D.O’Meara - Running in to form and goes well on a sound surface.

Swiss Cross trainer P.McEntee - Hard to win with but well handicapped.

JUMPERS

Minellaforleisure trainer A.Hales - Finished strongly at Market Rasen and looks on a winnable rating.

Back next Wednesday be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
