Last week we gave you some information on DANECASE after we backed him at such a big price. This week we should see if what we think about the horse is correct.

We are just hoping he will be some kind of price on the day and runs as expected.

We backed The Salmon Man again yesterday after connections pulled him out of the first race he was going to run in when we backed him a few weeks ago. He ran a great race but only managed 2nd place going down by a head. He has to stay on the notepad. I think next run will be a victory although his price may be a little on the sharp side for us to get involved.

One horse that caught my eye yesterday was VALLARTA for Ruth Carr the horse was tanking along at Ayr but the ground went against him and he did very well to get so close. He is undoubtedly well handicapped at present and if he gets good to firm ground over 6f then he will have a great chance at the same level. Maybe at Ayr or Hamilton his favourite tracks.

Today is a pretty poor day of racing it has to be said. The flat has yet to really unwind and we end up with jumps and all weather taking centre stage.

If you are still following our jockey selections from months ago then you will still be cleaning up. James Reveley continues his amazing strike rate in France as he landed a treble the other day and Josephine Gordon is doing really well as we said she would at the start of the all-weather season.

Let’s go through the Wetherby card…

6:10 FINE EXSAMPLE is a decent bet around 5/1 a solid horse that should give you a good run for your money. I do hear though that CAPITAL GEARING is expected to do much better today and at odds of around 16/1 could well be the sleeper in the market.

6:45 UDONTDODOU is very short considering both CELEBRATION and ALKHOR are in the field if I was backing then I would look for one of these two to turn over the favorite.

7:15 JUST BE LUCKY is solid around 3/1 and is the most likely winner but 2 horses we have backed before also must come into the reckoning as both are being trained to win right now MOCCASIN around 10/1 and DANAS PRESENT around 12/1 catch the eye in this contest.

7:50 SWASHBUCKLING around 8/1 in the market has been doing some good work at home, may well need the run but should give a good account today.

Over the sticks there are a few horses to watch out for today.

Hexham 2:30 SHARIVARRY the 10 yo is in good heart at home and should go well fresh today as he has been doing plenty at home.

3:00 Taylor is interesting for Micky. The stable are in really good form and could well get close at around 8/1.

At Southwell 5:55 EVERSOMUCH is the solid option but I like what I hear about TREACYHOTELSBOY at 8/1 connections feel the horse has had excuses for the last few runs and will do better today.

6:30 looks between TROVIERE 11/4 and Tom Georges horse ROCKLANDER 6/1 with preference for the bigger price.

8:05 we quite like 8/1 about DON’T DROP ME IN.

At Wolves 2:15 LA ASOMADA around 11/4 looks a play.

3:15 WANEEN for Joseph Tuite looks a decent chance around 4/1.
