Wednesday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

3rd February 2016

Hi ,

The big football news this week is the signing of Pep Guardiola by Manchester City to take over as manager at the end of the season. This is a super coup by the Blue end of the city as Pep is certainly the best club manager since Sir Alex Ferguson.

Apparently he will be earning more money than any of his players which doesn't happen very often in the Premier League. The interesting aspect of this is what will be deemed as success perhaps winning two or more trophies and if he only won the Premiership there are many who would judge it to be a poor return on investment. Either way I'm sure the owners of Chelsea and Man Utd will be looking at ways to stem this light blue tide.

It seems Frank Bruno has applied for a new boxing licence at the ripe old age of 54 which was rightly turned down by The British Boxing Board. I know he took some big punches in his career but some of them must have been harder than we imagined.

He should listen to the likes of Ian Botham and Tony mcCoy and retire at the top a remark that also applies to John Terry who is making a meal of not being offered a new Chelsea contract at the age of 36.

We have quite a few race meetings today however most of them are jump cards on heavy or very sticky ground which plays havoc with the form book. This was one reason why some tipsters went close to blowing their brains out during the end of January.

I mean we now have all these synthetic surfaces and it amazes me why there are so many that only want to bet on the grass. As far as I'm concerned I cant wait for the new allweather track at Newcastle to be opened.

For Howies Hottie I'm playing in the opener at Kempton this evening which is the 5.05 a very low grade affair over 7 furlongs. My money is on Loud from the Lydia Pearce yard and ridden by son Simon. The gelding is a prominent racer and hopefully he can get a good break from a wide gate position. If he gets a good start he should be bang there as he has won off much higher marks in the past.

HOT HANDICAPPERS

SYNTHETIC SURFACES

Top Offer trainer P.Morris - The gelding was placed last week and has dropped to a rating which he can win off.

Palace Moon trainer M.Attwater - He is an old timer who has seen much better days in his pomp. Now racing in very low grade there could be a win in him before retirement beckons.

JUMPERS

Gullinbersti trainer Emma Lavelle - Travelled well for a way last week at Doncaster before fading out of contention. He will appreciate better ground and is on a competitive racing weight.

Back next Wednesday be lucky.
