Wednesday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

16th December 2015

Hi ,

Lets start with a message to Prince Charles and President Obama. In June 1975 there was a County cricket match between Derbyshire and Lancashire at Buxton when snow wiped out the entire second day. It is recorded that for 20 minutes a blizzard swept across the ground and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Moscow in the depth of Winter.

Umpire Dickie Bird came out to inspect the wicket and the snow was up to his ankles. The legendary West Indian Clive Lloyd said it was the first time he had seen snow or played snowballs. Now if that had happened this year what would the Prince and President have said caused it?

The other night I just happened to watch a couple of races from America on A.T.R and one was an average claimer at Finger Lakes with prize money of $36,000 now if you look at todays Lingfield card the total prize money on the eight race card comes to about £25,000 which is pitiful.

How many more years do you think owners and trainers can afford to put up with this to keep the show on the road? For many years British racing has been subsidised by wealthy Arabs but with the continuing fall in oil prices that could well cease before long.

In my mind the Bookmakers must pay a hell of a lot more for the product they receive to make their huge profits very much in the same way that television pays for football. If the bookmakers fail to agree I suggest we implement a Tote Monopoly as soon as possible with all net profits going back into racing and improving facilities at our tracks.

I would be very interested on your views on this subject as well of those of fellow tipsters?

At long last we have a midweek day with some decent jump racing and for Howies Hottie I'm playing in the 12.40 Newbury. It's a near 3 mile handicap chase and the tip is quite a mouth full Blameitalonmyroots a 5 year old mare from Olly Sherwoods yard.

She won first time out and I think there is more improvement to come especially when the muds flying.

HOT HANDICAPPERS

SYNTHETIC SURFACES

Mon Ras trainer D.O'Meara - Placed in a competitive affair last time. The gelding is in good form and can win before long.

Doctor Parkes trainer S.Williams - Needs holding up for a late run and this old timer who has dropped down the weights can still win when things fall for him.

JUMPERS

First Avenue trainer Laura Mongan - Well handicapped on old form and showed he is no back number at Lingfield recently.

Blacklion trainer N.Twiston-Davies - Won his novice chase last week and can only improve with more racing.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
