The big heritage handicap of the weekend is the Victoria Cup at Ascot where Ride Like The Wind looks like one of the best weighted horses in the race. On the same afternoon at Lingfield Park the son of a famous father in Frankuus could win the Derby trial while an Aidan O'Brien prospect is the horse to beat in the Oaks equivalent.

Frankel is one of the best ever horses in the history of the sport. The horse was unbeaten in 14 races, at aged two, three and four. Group 1 form on the track does not always translate to delivering offspring that can win races at the highest level. Eminent, Dream Castle and Fair Eva were good enough to run in the Guineas for colts and filly's but the children of Frankel were not able to win. Frankuus puts his Dad's reputation on the line at Lingfield in a possible prep race for the Derby.

Frankel never won a race beyond 10 furlongs and a half furlongs and did not run in the Derby. The horse did enough over three seasons to guarantee a lucrative career at stud so it was a risk not worth taking. The horse's stud value may have increased with a Derby win but not by enough millions to run in the most famous Flat race in the world. The Arc was also bypassed which meant Frankel retired with an impeccable record. The Lingfield race on Saturday featuring Frankuus is over 11 furlongs.
