Sunday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

11th October 2015

Hi ,

Lets start with a quick word about Paris and what will surely go down as Dettori and John Godsons finest hour, winning the Arc de Triomphe.

The ground by Sunday was lightening fast and you simply had to be up with the pace because nothing was stopping. Every race was won from the front even the Prix du Cadran was a make all job and that race is so long two of the jockeys took a packed lunch.

Frankie was at his shrewdest and realised if he ran in a straight line and led he could edge over to the front gradually. Many of our party had backed Golden Horn and were mortified when he was out in the middle on his own but it was a brilliantly executed plan. He never saw another horse after that and that first move to get to the front gradually across will go down as one of the cleverest of all time. Gosden trusts Frankie though there is often an uneasy relationship as Frankies is with most people, this will cement their partnership.

I think this was Gosden’s crowning achievement as a Trainer, he looked crushed when this horse got beat at York and I would have given you any odds on Golden Horn going on to win an Arc after that display. He must have hated the ground then. There is a clamour for him to go to the Breeders Cup but I can’t see them risking him as a mega Stallion career beckons. I have constantly underrated this horse and taken him on, I was wrong he is a Superstar!

Friday and Saturday at Newmarket belonged to Coolmore with Minding looking awesome on Friday and Air Force Blue on Saturday. Minding beat Coolmore and looks an Oaks type but she showed plenty of speed and is a beautifully made Filly. She was the paddock pick of the entire weekend. Air Force Blue did a number on his opponents in the Dewhurst and there were rumours of Astronomical Bets from connections. He grabbed hold of the hill and bounded clear. O'Brian must think he has one hand on next years Classics already. One minor quibble though like several others I chuckled at the screen in the members bar as Aiden informed the interviewer that this is the best he has trained!! Err another one? He reminds me of a schoolfriend who every time he went to the cinema said it was the best film he had ever seen!! They can’t all be surely!

I'm at Goodwood today for a good little card in a perfect setting and there should be a decent crowd. If you live anywhere near come along it's stunning this time of year it really is. The 3.05 is an interesting race and I’m backing Inn The Bull for Allan King at 4/1 with Ladbrokes. King will be smiling still after Grumettis win yesterday and Inn The Bull was really taking winning here last time. Course form is worth double here (darts joke, never mind) and I think he has a great chance today.
