So Thistlecrack is not quite the spring heeled Pegasus many wanted to believe.

But he's no soft touch either and the question now is how will that gruelling Cotswold Chase - which interestingly has not had a wining favourite since 1999 - affect him.

It most take some toll physically, yet mentally it could be the makings on him.

If that hasn't toughened him up what will?

In some ways it could benefit him more than his polished and highly impressive display in the King George

Quite what the Irish challenge for the Gold Cup will amount to is hard to say at this stage.
