Contrasting Fortunes On The Cards For Liverpool And Huddersfield

As much as it hurts a Manchester United fan to say but Liverpool look in good shape to win the Premier League in the 2017-18 season and become the champions of England for the first time since the 1989-90 campaign. Huddersfield are playing in the top division of English football for the first time since 1972 but life at the top level could be short lived because an immediate return to the Championship is on the cards.

Chelsea were by far the best team in the Premier League last season. From the first month of the season they looked like potential contenders. Some subtle adjustments in tactics and formation by Antonio Conte made them look home and hosed by Christmas. Chelsea duly won the league by seven points, even though runners-up Tottenham scored more goals and conceded fewer. Manchester City and Liverpool qualified for the Champions League through their league position and Manchester United got in by winning the Europa League.
