Sunday's FREE Tip Is Ready...

5th July 2015

Hi ,

A fascinating Eclipse stakes was run at a sweltering Sandown yesterday.

The First thing to say is a non racing point but it is something seen on racecourses on hot days.

How many idiots in this country don't seem to have access to weather forecasts? Or are aware that you get sun burnt if you don't put sun cream on. There were people there yesterday who were scarily sun burnt and flaked out on the grass like Andy Bell after two pints of cider.

The racing was superb from the shade of the members stand I had a wonderful vantage point whilst Penny and her sister were on ice cream duty. My members made a very tidy profit on the day and we have made a strong start to July after a good June. I didn't give a bet in the Eclipse but that was the race everyone was there to see.

There was a real buzz about the place and in the pre parade ring Golden Horn looked magnificent as did the other Gosden horse Western Hymn and I was far from surprised when bundles of late cash came for him. By contrast I have seen the Great Gatsby look better and I thought he looked a little dull and light as though Ascot had left its mark.

The race itself was superb as Dettori who has had his critics of late after some shockers in big races went straight to the front and served it up to them. Spencer on the Great Gatsby covered every move and the pair of them went hard at it down the straight. What was so significant was that they left good solid Group 2 horses for dead and they were really shifting.

Golden Horn pulled away in the last half furlong in the style of a top class winner. I was far from convinced this horse was the real deal, I am now believe me. He has however had a gruelling race here and knowing the trainer I doubt we will see him at York which is a real shame as he would light up the Knavesmire on this form. This wins the Arc for me and that is what he will be aimed at possibly preceded by a trip to Ireland. Fair play to Dettori too as many of you will have gathered I'm far from his biggest admirer as a jockey or as a professional "character" but this was a brave and well executed group 1 ride.

Today is moderate let's be honest and it's a day for relaxing but do pop inside at 4.10 as No Poppy runs at Ayr and the way she won last time and the form that the Easterby horses are in I think Betbright are being mega generous offering 9/2.

See you next week, or join my service we are well on our way this month and looking good for the year. All you get is every bet I do day in day out I find the best value bets and the best info out there.
