You can’t beat a bit of innovation and the European Tour and the PGA of Australia   have certainly come up with a good idea this week in Perth.

Its the ISPS HANDA World Super 6. There will be a regular cut after 36 holes but then things start to get very unusual as there will be a further cut which reduces the field down to 24 who will play off in six hole match play events.

This will then lead to a final with a winner being crowned champ on Sunday morning our time.Golf needs to make itself more exciting to tv viewers and things like this are perfect as they build up the excitement.

I really think this format will suit Super Swede Alex Noren and I make him a strong favourite to take this title , he is ice cool and plays at top twenty world level that will be far too strong for most of these.
